In 1999, Daniel was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Stewards Limited, an established charitable organization in Hong Kong which employed 400 staff in the areas of Education, Social Welfare and Medical Health Services. During his office, he was heavily involved in planning, policy development and management of schools. He sat on a number of School Management Committees, including the Education Committee (Children and Youth Division) of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, which he chaired.
Daniel concerned himself with a wide range of local and regional issues. For many years, he had been outspoken on issues about young people, educational system, mental health and social welfare development of Hong Kong. He sat on many different committees both in Hong Kong and Australia. These include the District Board Committees of Shatin and Hong Kong Council of Social Service. He was also appointed by The Hong Kong SAR Government as a member of the Guardianship Board prior to his return to Australia in 2001.
Apart from his involvement in the educational and social services, Daniel is also active in different areas of Christian ministry. He was the co-founder of Overseas Christian Outreach in University of Sydney, Chairman of Mobile Mission Maintenance (HK) Limited, and a missionary with Gospel Literature Outreach.
Having been an overseas student in Australia himself, Daniel understands the struggles of living in a foreign country which language and culture are entirely different from his own. With the increasing number of parents who want to send their children to study in Australia, Daniel would like to share his wealth of experience and use his professional knowledge to help these students. It is with such vision and commitment that Daniel returned to Australia to start the work of Grace in 2001.
