Why study in Australia?

Australia has an international reputation for its standard of education and relatively low tuition fees and living costs. The vast area that it covers enables it to offer a diverse selection of places to visit. Added to this, Australia is known for its clean air, water, comfortable climate and friendly people. Its close proximity to Mainland China/Hong Kong SAR and other Asian countries also makes it very appealing. With one out of every four residents born overseas, Australia is well known for its cultural diversity. In Australia, overseas students have the opportunity not only to receive education in an English speaking country but also to meet and interact with people from all over the world.
Education in Australia

Schools in Australia are mainly divided into public schools and private schools. A school can have an enormous impact on the student's character, future study and career development. Careful selection of school needs no emphasis.
The primary and secondary levels of education in Australia range from Kindergarten to Year 12. Students completing Year 12 will sit for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) examination. The results attained will form the basis of entry to universities or tertiary institutions.
Students who are studying F.1 to F.5 in Hong Kong SAR normally further study at a High School in Australia. Some High Schools may require an applicant to reach a certain level in a recognized examination as one of the enrolment criteria. The recognized examinations comprise, inter alia, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Australian Examination Assessment Services (AEAS). Some High Schools do not have such requirement. Acceptance for enrolment will also depend upon the student’s past school records and conduct in school. Some students are required to study at a recognized English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) College in Australia and are required to reach a certain standard of English before going into the High School.
Students who have completed Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) in Hong Kong SAR may study in a University Foundation Course to enter University directly. Some Colleges may also have an articulation program with Universities that can provide their graduates with automatic entry to these Universities.
